How it started…

I started by researching types of packaging options, and came across this unique material. It has a unique blend of cornstarch and bio based polymer, making it 100% compostable. I knew the eco friendly packaging is waterproof which allows the customers clothes to stay dry incase of any unfortunate event were to happen during transportation. Not only would this package keep your products dry but also it is environmentally friendly.

Once I had found the material, I began to sketch some packaging concepts. I kept in mind sealing options and imagined how it would be held.

The decision behind the colors was adding a gold to show elegancy and class. The gold would pair well with the black and the white type. This would help with the narrative behind this high quality brand.

As I explored different typeface’s, I wanted to try something a little different compared to the original. I add a serif at the end of the type. The sans serif type has a stylish look which again helps with the identity of the brand.

Logo Concept Sketches

I wanted to keep the X monogram due to being part of their identity.I played around with different script, san serif and serif fonts just to see what it would look like. I eventually would eliminate some of these design because they are too thin. I want my audience to be able to see the logo from distance.

Digital Logo

I was tasked to redesign the soft packaging for the clothing brand CUTS. I would have to create a real prototype, researching packaging material and redesign the logo.

The brand’s aim is to create comfortable clothes for businesses but also causal enough for a night out. My intentions for this design is to give it a new look but maintain an elegant appearance.

Original Package

Some of these sketches have a zipper like packaging seal to keep the clothes safe. I also created one with a button design. On some sketches I added a opening as well to make it easier for the buyer to hold the package.
